Independence Hummer, the Carolinas leading Hummer dealer for genuine Hummer Parts, Accessories and Service for Hummer vehicles in the Carolina area was honored to join with Moe’s Southwest Grill and Massey’s Septic Tank to help raise money for the families that were recently struck by tragedy in the Charlotte area. Jeff Mahar and Vinny Ferens, both worked at Moe’s Southwest Grill, when taken during a senseless act of violence. Ricky Hudgens, a driver for Massey Septic Tank was recently killed in a car crash. Invitations were sent out to the Independence Hummer family of customer. We gathered on Sunday, December 9th at the dealership and caravanned to Mr. Hawes’ farm in Mooresville. Donations were taken to help the families. Lunch was catered by Moe’s event-goers spent the day off-roading in their Hummers. The event raised over $4,000 dollars for the families.

The H3 Alpha emerged victorious in the most challenging categories of the competition, including Off-Road Performance, Exterior Styling, and Empirical Scoring, which measures data such as acceleration and braking, power to weight ratio, and ramp over angles. The test consisted of a 1,000-mile curriculum on streets, highways, rocky trails, desert sand dunes, water crossings, and steep hills. Elevations ranged from sea level to in excess of 6,000 feet.

The H3 Alpha is the second member of HUMMER’s exclusive Alpha series, representing the pinnacle of performance, both off road and on. It is powered by a new, 5.3L V-8 engine that delivers 295 horsepower and 317 lb-ft. of torque. It is partnered with a four-speed automatic transmission and enables a maximum towing capacity of 6,000 pounds.
