The 2008 Hummer H3X is an urban-styled sport utility vehicle. It offers an excellent off-road and on-road ride with its massive all-terrain tires and luxurious interiors.

The H3X is powered by a 3.5-liter, in-line, five-cylinder engine that produces 242 horsepower and 242 pound-feet of torque. It is equipped with a four-wheel drive that includes a low-range gear for off-road use. Five-speed manual transmission is standard, while a four-speed auto transmission is optional. Fuel economy is rated at 14 mpg in the city and 18 mpg on the highway.

The H3X is equipped with a host of chrome accents such as the fuel-filler door and brush guard. Other features include a Monsoon audio system with a six-CD changer, dual-zone air conditioning, 18-inch chrome wheels, power/ heated front seats, spare-tire cover, bright roof-rack cross members, body-colored grille, tires and side steps. Customized leather interiors with embroidered H3 logos on the headrests enhance the H3X’s luxury look. The off-road adventure suspension package includes ultra-low gearing and a locking rear axle for tough terrains. It gets all the styling cues of the Hummer, including the massive wheel flares, industrial grille and armored car-style windows. A navigation system, rearview camera and satellite radio are optional features.

The noteworthy standard safety features include a tire-pressure monitoring system, electronic stability control, anti-skid system, traction control, anti-lock brakes, child safety locks, and frontal and side-impact air bags for driver and front-seat passenger. In National Highway Transportation Safety Administration crash tests, the H3 received a perfect five stars for the driver and four stars for the front passenger in frontal impacts.
